LOST (Captive Heart #1) by Carrie Aarons

Beware of Spoilers!

Star Ratings:

Heroine (Char): 25yrs old – 2/5

Hero (Tucker): 26yrs old – 1/5

Plot:  1/5

Grovel: I didn’t believe or trust in the H’s apology to the h

Cheating: the h reminisces about all the girls he has made out with WHEN HE IS ABOUT TO KISS THE HEROINE, and there are plenty of reminders of his sexual activities with others

HEA: cliffhanger

Triggers: H is a heroin addict (I wish I had known this before reading because drug use is a hard-no for me but the h drew me in)

Average score: 1.5/5

Best Line: none

Worst Line: almost every single line!

Personal Review:

Such a pathetic co-dependent couple…a girl who has been hooked on to a guy who is an asshole to her for almost 20 years! And the guy is a fucking heroin addict who kidnaps her and threatens to kill her.

Random Ramblings:

  • The h was stupid for not calling police/ambulance when he was going through withdrawal
  • Both the h and H need a slap – the H for his drug use and the h for her pathetic excuses to stay with him
  • When they kissed I couldn’t get the image of the H out of my mind with this description the h gave:

His once boyishly handsome face is now gaunt, his cheeks sunken in from what I suspect is malnutrition. His eyes are glassy and his coloring is pale, his lips chapped. And there are two prominent sores on either side of his mouth, puss and blood oozing from them.

This is gross purely from a hygiene perspective!

  • Also, the H was such an ass that he never gave the h an orgasm

Overall Feeling:

Char: I’m a glutton for punishment

Yes you are
