Beware of Spoilers!
Heroine (Mia): 3.5/5
Hero (Cole): 3.5/5
Grovel: none because as much as the H was a prick at times, the h kept running back to help and making big speeches…please can I have a H who goes after the h…pretty please?
Cheating: sort of….h and H have feelings for each other but still continue to sleep with other people before ‘officially’ getting together
HEA: yes and it was epic!
Triggers: in detail intimacy between H and other women – h also witnesses it, h was almost raped
Average score: 4/5 – it would have been higher but trigger reduced the rating
Best Line: h’s dad: “Don’t let the unfortunate circumstances of your childhood dictate the rest of your life. Reach for the stars, Cole”
Worst Lines: The whole scene with the stripper was disgusting and not something I wanted to read in great detail
This was an epic, emotional, meaty and (at times) funny love story between a young girl and a bruised, sensitive and protective guy.
We see their relationship progress from when they meet at aged 7 and 12 to adulthood and it was lovely on the most part.
What was not so great was the h making dramatic speeches about her feelings of the H and then telling the H not to contact her, then approaching H again and telling him she would wait for him….the constant back and forth became irritating and the h was doing all the work!
- Mia’s dad was the best dad in the world!
- As for the H’s dad….he had it coming
- I hope ‘denial dating’ doesn’t become a thing
- I understand why the H acted like a douche towards h after juvie but I still didn’t like it and just wanted to scream at the H that he does deserve happiness!
