Beware of Spoilers!
Heroine (Callie): 4/5
Hero (Bruno): 5/5
Grovel: none needed
Average score: 4.5 Stars
Best Line: H’s thoughts: “I fuckin’ hate teenage girls. They’re the worst type of human beings on the planet. It’s easier to reason with a stick of butter than a hormonal female teen.” – totally agree and this…
h to H: “Men don’t age at the same rate mentally. Twenty-one-year-olds still act like prepubescents except they’re horny bastards.” – which is why I try to stay clear of YA/NA romances!
h’s thoughts: “When I was little, my mother always said, “Get a good job. You’ll be able to take care of yourself and buy whatever you want. Don’t rely on any man. Stand on your own two feet, Callie.” – my mum told me the same thing!
H to h: “Everyone needs someone.”
H to h: “We have a war to win.”
Worst Line: “You have cancer.”
This was a very emotional read. A love story between a woman who has been diagnosed with cancer and a hot badass man with some history but has always wanted the h from afar (which was mega sweet!). The H looks after the h when she is first diagnosed and he was amazing!!
We are taken through the ‘cancer journey’ with a lot of love, tears, heartbreak and laughter.
- There was some serious tough-love involved
- The books were so thoughtful!
- Loved Bruno’s parents!
My thoughts about the H….
