Personal Review:

This is a story of four people. A father and son and a mother and daughter. The daughter (Paige) lost her fiancé and her mother (Carrie) is a romance writer who is currently trying to gain experience at a dude ranch. The father is Ray who is an alcoholic who is grieving the loss of his son and his other son is Jake who is a soldier. After reading the first chapter, I knew the parents were going to be paired together as well as the children.

I have to say the four POVs did throw me off a little as there was not much time to process and ‘feel’ each person before it quickly jumped to the next scene with a different POV.

Overall, it was an ‘ok’ read. A definite departure from my typical romance but I am glad I tried it.

Random Ramblings:

Not sure how I felt about Carrie being a romance author…in a romance book!

Did not like Ray constantly referring to Paige as ‘baby’

Paige came across as very immature for her age when she was interacting with her mother

Overall Feeling:

20010
